Special Treats

These items are resources we’ve found generally helpful, appealing or fun.  (Or all three!).

clothing

These tops and bottoms are more expensive, but the fabric is great and their messages can’t be topped! (pardon the pun).  They run sales fairly often and it’s not hard to snag a deal with an uplifting message.

If you’re a book lover, you’ll just LOVE these. Posters, t-shirts, totes and tattoos – all designed from the text of a book. So literally the words of a book make up the images that represent the story. They also did an amazing tattoo chain where they told Lewis Carroll’s books, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, through 5000 temporary tattoos.  They are super cool!

Similar to Spiritual Gangster, with an easier price point, they also offer jewelry and charms.

This site caters to pregnant women but I find their items perfect to upgrade my lounge wear on days when I’m stuck at home. I especially love their Hatch-to-Hospital box which features a cozy nightgown, robe and socks. A great gift idea for your friend who is sick and stuck at home or as a treat for yourself.

apps

When you have brain fog, keeping track of things is SO much harder.  Evernote has saved me time and time again.  I can scan documents with my phone.  I can take photos of magazine pages.  I can clip and save website articles.  And it’s all sortable into notebooks, searchable with tags, and it even recognizes texts within photos!

I love this app and it’s gotten better since I started using it over five years ago. I love the timed gongs. I love how easy it is to use. I love the sense of community as I can see who else around the world is meditating with me. I love the guided meditations they now offer with some of the nation’s top meditation teachers. And I love the journal and the way the app keeps track of my session.  If you connect your accounts, the app will even post your meditation sessions to your Twitter and Facebook.

jewelry
Mojee Shokri

Mojee Shokri is a beautiful person, in and out, who designs malas out of precious and semi-precious stones as well as gold and silver.  I am lucky enough to own two, and they are among my most treasured possessions.   She hand-creates other spiritual jewelry too.
